Starting Out

Have you ever had a knot in your shoelace? The chain of your necklace? The ribbon on a present you are trying to open? Then you’ll know how frustrated and angry we can get when it simply won’t come undone! Life is rather like those knots…the events of the day get tangled up and one day rolls into another, and pretty soon, you have one big mess that prevents you from moving forward!! I’ve been there! I remember the misery! It’s that feeling of standing in the empty room of your new home surrounded by a multitude of boxes that contain all of your treasured belongings. You know everything is there. Everything you need to begin your new life. But, at the moment, it’s all hidden in boxes with nothing but the designated room of the box scribbled on the outside. Which string do you pull to untangle the knot? Which box do you open first? Where do you start? You don’t need someone to counsel you on how your life got so tangled. You don’t need a therapist to help you discover why you put what you put into each of those boxes. You simply need someone to help you discover “a positive plan of purpose” because you know you can do it! You need someone to help you talk through the unpacking of each box and reason out where you should place each special possession. You need a Life Coach! I’ve read that we only hold one piece of life’s jigsaw puzzle. Only God has the cover of the box. Who knows how we let ourselves get tangled up in the messes of life? There is comfort in knowing, however, that it happens to everyone. The problem is that not everyone will take control of that jumble and decide to conquer the untangling! If your life is confusing or you are weary of going around that same old mountain of misery, remember that “God is not a God of disorder, but of peace.” (1 Cor. 14:33) “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.” (2 Tim. 1:7) We already have what it takes to untangle the knots and organize the boxes. God says He will direct our steps. So, put on your most comfortable shoes and get ready for the excursion. Your world – unclogged, uncluttered, manageable, and bright, created by you and enjoyed by you! Take a deep breath and inhale His Glory – it’s time for a new adventure!!
